El Paso Volunteer Takes Initiative for CASA Program

Wendy Arellano of CASA of El Paso has gone above and beyond the call of duty as a CASA volunteer by applying for and securing a $200 grant for her program from Texas Gas Service.

Arellano also made a presentation about CASA to her company this year during the United Way Campaign. CASA of El Paso is a United Way-funded agency, so the additional exposure is highly beneficial. Executive Director Lisa Saucedo is thrilled to have such a dedicated volunteer.

"It is so important for our program to have volunteers like Wendy," Saucedo said. "Community outreach at local companies helps our program grow and expand."

Arellano's advice for other volunteers is to be open to any and all opportunities to promote CASA's mission.

"Even if you only reach one person, that person will advocate and change a child's life."
