#givingtuesday

Thanksgiving Day is our national day of thanks.  Its followed by Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two days of mass consumerism.  #GIVINGTUESDAY (12/02/14) comes next, a national day of giving back to our community!  Help support this movement by giving back to your community through donations to local non-profit organizations.  CASA of El Paso will be holding our own #givingtuesday campaign this year.  Make a donation on Tuesday December 2nd via our website and make your voice heard!

Dear CASA Supporter,

Welcome to Voz de los Niños, your monthly newsletter keeping you in the know of all things CASA of El Paso!

Volunteer Spotlight

This month's Volunteer Spotlight shines on CASA Volunteer Gloria Ambler.  Gloria has been a CASA volunteer since July 2013. During this time she has worked two difficult cases where she demonstrated her commitment to serving the best interest of the children. She is not only an advocate for children but keeps an open mind to various options that could benefit them.

Gloria also takes on additional responsibilities whenever she can.  She is currently the co-chair of our Legislative Advocacy Team, helping us build important and lasting connections with all of our local legislators.  Thank you for all you do Gloria!  We are honored to work with you.

Lunch and Learn with CASA!

We will be presenting another Lunch and Learn In-service for our CASA Volunteers on Thursday November 20th.  We are pleased to be hosting Senator Jose Rodriguez (along with some other special guests to be announced)!  Senator Rodriguez will be here to meet our volunteers and share his legislative priorities for the next session of the Texas Legislature.  This is your opportunity to meet the person who represents you in Austin and who has long been a supporter of our program. Let's show the senator what a great group of volunteers we have! We will also be welcoming our newest group of volunteers at their swearing in ceremony.
When: Thursday, November 20
Where: EP County Courthouse, 3rd floor outside our office
RSVP to Arianne Marcee by November 14

This luncheon is being organized by our Legislative Advocacy Team.  Thank you team members!

CASA Volunteer Training

CASA of El Paso is constantly working to recruit more volunteers so that one day we can serve 100% of the abused and neglected children in foster care.  If you are considering becoming a volunteer or know someone else who is, please consult our training schedule!  We have completed the schedule for the next 12 months and it is posted on our website.  Find which one works for you and contact us to get started!

CASA in the Community

Fort Bliss is a large presence here in the El Paso community. It is in our CASA community as well!  We are honored to have a large number of active duty military, military spouses or other military affiliations as CASA Volunteers.  This week we are attending the 'Make a Difference' Volunteer Round Up at Fort Bliss to recruit even more!  Being a part of CASA is an excellent way for military personnel to give back to their adopted homes.  CASA of El Paso certainly appreciates their service!

Thank you for your continued support of CASA of El Paso! Together we can make a lifelong difference in the life of an abused or neglected child.
Sincerely,
