This month our spotlight shines on Dawn Main!

Dawn has been a volunteer for five years and is currently working on her seventh case. Her advocacy work does not just include visiting the child(ren) on a monthly basis or going to school meetings to make sure they are doing well in school. Dawn goes beyond her duties to ensure that the child(ren) are safe and will be safe in the future. She has gone to interview neighbors, contacted the Texas prison system and even went to visit the child(ren) after being returned to parents to make sure that everything was going well. Dawn may be quiet but when she has to speak in front of the Judge or testify in court, people listen to what she has to say! Thanks to Dawn's efforts, all but two of the children she advocated for ended up in a happy and loving home. Keep up the great work Dawn!!!!!

Thank you Border Patrol!

Thank you to the local Border Patrol! Because of their generosity, thirteen of our foster families received turkeys and had a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner! As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise our children and we are grateful they are part of our village!

Casas for CASA 2015 Special Guest

CASA of El Paso is thrilled to welcome Ashley Rhodes-Courter to Casas for CASA 2015! Ashley entered the foster care system at three years old where she spent almost ten years being shuttled between fourteen homes, some quite abusive, before finally being adopted. Ashley was lucky enough to have a CASA Volunteer on her case and is very vocal about how important her CASA Volunteer was to her, what a difference one person was able to make in her life. "I trusted my CASA Volunteer. She was the only person whose face I recognized after every move." Ashley has her happy ending, but hasn't forgotten the thousands of children who do not. She is a vocal and powerful advocate for children in care and we are thrilled to welcome Ashley to Casas for CASA 2015, where she will continue giving a voice to these children.
