Dear CASA Supporter,

Welcome to Voz de los Niños, your monthly newsletter keeping you in the know of all things CASA of El Paso!

Volunteer Spotlight

This month our spotlight shines on Richard Perales! Richard is currently serving on his third and most difficult case.  He represents a child in our 'Crossover Court', children in both foster care and juvenile probation.  Richard attends all meetings with CPS and the Juvenile Probation Department while continuing to visit with and advocate for his child.  The child has unfortunately been placed in a residential treatment center out of town, but this has not stopped Richard from visiting. He is travelling over Thanksgiving to see him! We can count on Richard to be an excellent CASA for all the children he represents. He makes sure his CASA children know that he will always be there for them! Thank you Richard!

Casas for CASA 2015 Special Guest
CASA of El Paso is thrilled to welcome Ashley Rhodes-Courter to Casas for CASA 2015! Ashley entered the foster care system at three years old where she spent almost ten years being shuttled between fourteen homes, some quite abusive, before finally being adopted. Ashley was lucky enough to have a CASA Volunteer on her case and is very vocal about how important her CASA Volunteer was to her, what a difference one person was able to make in her life. "I trusted my CASA Volunteer. She was the only person whose face I recognized after every move." Ashley has her happy ending, but hasn't forgotten the thousands of children who do not. She is a vocal and powerful advocate for children in care and we are thrilled to welcome Ashley to Casas for CASA 2015, where she will continue giving a voice to these children.

Thank you CAS Cares!

On November 6th, CASA of El Paso was the proud recipient of a grant from local foundation, CAS Cares.  This is the fourth year CAS Cares has generously supported CASA!  We are tremendously grateful to have their continued support and this money will be put to good use helping us fulfill our mission of advocating for El Paso's foster children. Thank you CAS Cares!
