Dear CASA Supporter,

Welcome to Voz de los Niños, your monthly newsletter keeping you in the know of all things CASA of El Paso!

Volunteer Spotlight

This month our spotlight shines on Gina Fuentes! Gina provides insight and dedication to help make the best long term decisions for each of her cases. Gina excels at teamwork by being an extremely effective communicator.  She shows her dedication by being a constant figure in these children's lives and has always acted in good faith, persistence and with integrity. Thank you Gina!

Wanted: More CASA Volunteers!
CASA of El Paso is constantly working to recruit more volunteers so that one day we can serve 100% of the abused and neglected children in foster care.  If you are considering becoming a volunteer or know someone else who is, please consult our training schedule!  We have completed the schedule for the next 12 months and it is posted on our website.  Find which one works for you and contact us to get started!

Upcoming In-services

Do you know where to find our upcoming in-services?  These are listed on our website!  Visit

the website to see the list of all in-services you can attend to fulfill your required 12 hours of continuing education.  Our next in-service will be held this Thursday September 25th and will be a Child Rights Law and Advocacy class. Next week on September 30th we will be hosting a tour of the child crisis center.

Click here to see the list now.

CASA in the Community

This is a busy time of year for us as a United Way Agency!  We are lucky to be invited to numerous kickoff events where we can talk to large groups of people about what CASA is and who we serve.  These outreach activities give us greater exposure in the community and help us get even more donations for our United Way campaign.  In the coming weeks we will be at kickoff events for state employees, UTEP and federal employees. Maybe we'll see you there!

Don't Forget-Educational Advocacy

Its hard to believe that summer is over and fall is here!  All schools are now in session.  Children should be settled into their new classes and back at work with progress reports coming soon.  This is the perfect time to touch base with teachers regarding progress at school. Educational Advocacy is an important part of being a CASA Volunteer!

Thank you for your continued support of CASA of El Paso! Together we can make a lifelong difference in the life of an abused or neglected child
