Dear CASA Supporter,

Welcome to Voz de los Niños, your monthly newsletter keeping you in the know of all things CASA of El Paso!

 Spotlight

This month our spotlight shines on our Executive Director! Lisa Saucedo has been recognized by El Paso Inc. as being a Woman of Impact in the El Paso region and will be honored next week at their event. We are excited to congratulate her for this well-deserved honor! Her direction and leadership has guided CASA's powerful impact on the abused and neglected children of El Paso. Thank you Lisa! We wouldn't be CASA without you!

CASA Video
Do you ever have trouble describing CASA to other people?  Do you wish others had a better understanding of the role of a CASA volunteer?  This new video does a wonderful job of explaining what CASA does as well as how tremendously important it is to advocate for these vulnerable children.  Take a look!
Thank you to CASA of Travis County and For the City Network for making the video.

 Upcoming In-Service Opportunities

October is filled with great in-services!  We will be hosting three different lunch and learn presentations.  Next Thursday October 1st, Andrea Sparks from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children will discuss sex trafficking and the online exploitation of children in foster care. This is a very timely topic that is sure to be of interest to many of our volunteers.
Save the date for Wednesday, October 7th to learn about El Paso Children's Hospital Child Abuse Clinic and  Wednesday October 21st for The Anatomy of Attachment. For details or a complete list of all upcoming in-services, please visit our website

CASA Community Cafe

This month's CASA Community Café will be
Wednesday, October 7th at 2:00pm
at West Elm Market at The Fountains.
Food and drink will be available for purchase at the Market.

The CASA Community Café is a monthly opportunity for CASA volunteers to get together and socialize with other volunteers.  It will be a casual meeting without CASA staff, a time for volunteers to get to know each other better. These meetings will be held the first Wednesday of every month, in rotating locations and at different times  to maximize convenience for volunteers in various parts of the city and with different schedules.  If this month's meeting doesn't work for you, maybe next month's will! No RSVP needed!

For more information or to suggest a location, contact Arianne Marcee at 546-8146 ext 9 or amarcee@epcounty.com.

 CASA in the Community

We've been busy this month, attending lots of things in the community!  We were happy to present to Texas Gas Service, UTEP faculty, AT&T and the Combined Federal United Way Campaign as well as attending the CARE Conference.  We were able to tell lots of new people about our great program and support the United Way while doing so.

If you know of a group who would be interested in hearing about our program, please let Arianne know!

Thank you for your continued support of CASA of El Paso! Together we can make a lifelong difference in the life of an abused or neglected child.

Sincerely,

CASA of El Paso
