Dear CASA Supporter,

Welcome to Voz de los Niños, the monthly newsletter keeping you informed about CASA of El Paso.

November, 2015

Welcome Virginia Gonzalez!

We are thrilled to welcome Virginia, our newest Volunteer Supervisor.  In her own words: "I am a mother of 3 children and consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to be able to serve other children in our community.  My background consists of employment with El Paso County as well as non-profits in both El Paso and Houston, Texas.  In my ten years of experience with MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) I learned the value of volunteers and the rewarding world of non-profits.  I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to be able to help someone in need as well as the ability to work with individuals who volunteer their time & compassion to work with a non-profit and make a difference in their community.  I truly believe that if more individuals made the effort to get involved with local non-profits that our communities would thrive, victims would become survivors and their pain would serve as education and prevention of future crimes."

Welcome Virginia!  We already can't imagine CASA without you!

National Adoption Month & Adoption Day

November is National Adoption Month, bringing special attention to adoptions of children in foster care. Locally, El Paso County celebrated this with Adoption Day, held this past Saturday November 21st in Judge Gutierrez' 65th District Court.

CASA of El Paso was happy to join in the celebration and attend the adoptions of some of our children. Congratulations to those families who are now complete and have their happy ending!

CASA Volunteers Claudia Murguia and Elena Garza Vargas contributed to one family's happy ending by representing five children on a case that began five years ago.  These volunteers never wavered in their advocacy and remained steadfast that not only should these children be adopted, but most importantly be adopted together in one forever home.  Thank you ladies!
